instax mini 7s vs mini 9 8

The Instax Mini 9 may have been released nearly a decade after the Mini 7s but many people are still curious to know what the differences are between them.

In a way, the question makes perfect sense since many of their specifications, from the 60mm lens and aperture range to the basic brightness settings and the design, are almost identical.

January 28, 2018 By Heather Go to Comments

how to turn off instax mini 9

The Instax Mini 8 and Mini 9, despite the one-digit difference in their names, are far more similar than they are different. In fact, the only noteworthy difference is the tiny selfie mirror on the lens of the Mini 9. Everything else is more or less the same, including how to turn them on and off.

4 Reasons Your Instax Mini 9 Pictures Are Too Dark

December 29, 2017 By Heather 21 Comments

instax mini 9 pictures too dark

If you’re accustomed to taking photos with smartphones or digital cameras, you know that what you see on the screen is generally what you get.

The opposite is the case with Instax film prints. Though you can hazard a guess as to what the right exposure might be by choosing the recommended setting on the dial, you never really know how your image is going to look until it has developed. Choose the wrong setting and the result will be either way too bright (overexposed) or far too dark (underexposed).

Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 vs 90: The 10 Main Differences

December 22, 2017 By Heather 5 Comments

instax mini 9 vs 90 neo classic

The Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 and 90 are two popular instant film cameras that sit at opposite ends of the spectrum – at least as far as their respective target audiences are concerned. Although both use the same Instax Mini film, the Mini 9 is classified as a point-and-shoot model for entry-level users whereas the Mini 90 targets more advanced photographers who want additional control over their imagery.

Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 and 70 – The 8 Main Differences

September 22, 2017 By Heather 15 Comments

fuji instax mini 70 vs 9

Two of the most well-loved models within Fujifilm’s range of instant cameras are the Instax Mini 9 and the Mini 70. The former is the official successor to the Instax Mini 8, the most popular consumer-oriented instant camera on the market, whereas the latter is a slightly more advanced model with a more refined design and extra controls.

I’ve been using both cameras over the past few months, and felt it was high time to share my thoughts on how they compare. Let’s get started!

Polaroid OneStep 2 vs. Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 – The 5 Main Differences

September 15, 2017 By Heather Go to Comments

polaroid stepone 2 vs instax mini 9

On Polaroid’s 80th anniversary, the Impossible Project – now rebranded as Polaroid Originals – announced its very first camera under the Polaroid name: the OneStep 2. It is a simple point-and-shoot analog camera that bears a strong physical resemblance to its spiritual processor from 1977, the OneStep, albeit with a few modern comforts such as USB charging and a self-timer.

Polaroid Originals isn’t the only manufacturer of modern instant film cameras however. In fact, one of the best-selling instant models, the Instax Mini 9, is produced by none other than Fujifilm. Like its equally popular predecessor, the Mini 8, the Mini 9 rose to popularity thanks to its straightforward controls and fun toy-like appearance.

Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 Review

August 14, 2017 By Heather 5 Comments

fuji instax mini review featured image

When digital cameras first burst onto the scene back when I was a teenager, I, like many others, was convinced it was the end of an era for film. Never would I have predicted that instant film cameras like my old Polaroid would one day enjoy such a resurgence in popularity.

Today, one of the best-selling models on the market is the Instax Mini 9 – the successor to the extremely popular Mini 8 – and it happens to be, not a super advanced digital camera with the latest specifications, but an extremely basic instant film camera.

August 11, 2017 By Heather Go to Comments

instax mini 9 carrying case review

One of the first accessories I knew I wanted for my Instax Mini 9 was a carrying case, so I did what most people do these days – I went online to see which cases had the best reviews.

In the end, I settled on a Fintie case. Not only is the price reasonable but unlike the official Instax case, they come in many different designs and colours.

If you’re curious to find out more, keep on reading!
